What ho! I'm Viki Kruzel, a Chicagoland based writer, editor, and voice actor. You can find my publications and voiceover samples on my website if ye dare. Merlin's Compendium has been a long time passion project and I am honored an excited to read work with your fantastical twist to it.
A Bit About Me:
My excitement for fantasy stories began very early. I was (and still am) quite the bookworm and actively searched for stories that provided that transportive quality that allowed the impossible to become possible. There have been periods of my life where I've had to stop reading for pleasure but I find myself consistently reprising my enjoyment of fiction.
I find fantasy in more than just books now! I play collaborative table-top roleplaying games like Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder, World of Darkness, etc., and I also play Magic: The Gathering, a fantasy themed trading card game. I have recently written my own fantasy themed short story based on a Slavic myth which brought me closer to my Polish roots.
My journey in poetry began in my high school years with spoken word competitions (Formerly: Louder Than A Bomb, Now: Rooted and Radical, hosted by Young Chicago Authors). In my senior year, I became Slam Poetry Club Captain. I went to community college for a bit before completing my B.A. in Creative Writing with a focus in Poetry and minored in Voiceover. I learned a whole new method of storytelling that involved vocal performance and audio mixing and I hope to do more in the future.
'Tis a joy and then some to be acquainted with thee! Godspeed with thy scribing!
